June 2012 Match Results
With 82 competitors, this was the biggest USPSA match held at the Raccoon Hunters in a long time. Practical pistol shooters ranging from GM to first timers from Ohio, Michigan, and Canada represented every division making for a fun and (sometimes) interesting day. Production and Limited divisions were equally represented with 24 shooters each followed by Open, Single Stack, Limited 10, and a sole brave revolver shooter. You got to admire the revolver shooters that come to a Raccoon Hunters match. Five of the eight stages were 30 rounds or more and absolutely no consideration is given for a revolver friendly stage at WCRH.
Stage designers, Roy Neal and Mike Dame had attended a class a few weeks before and recently shot at some major matches giving them plenty of ideas to challenge everyone. As usual, there were eight stages consisting of seven field courses and a USPSA classifier: Front Sight 2 (99-24). Because of the large number of attendees, it was necessary to form eight squads. This put a squad on every bay at start. The ROs and squad members did an excellent job at keeping things moving smoothly and there were no major hold ups even with all the steel, drop turners, swingers, and many many targets that needed to be pasted in a 218 round local match. Someone needs to find something for Mike to do in his spare time.
A big THANK YOU to those who stayed after to help tear down and stow the props. After everyone was done and scores were compiled, we were still finished by four o’clock. Just as the rain started. You don’t get much better than that at a local match!

IPSC66 at Wayne County Raccoon Hunters held a 144 round USPSA special classifier match over the Memorial Day weekend. The six classifiers shot at this match included: Melody Line (CM99-08), 3-V (CM03-04), On The Move (CM03-09), Paper Poppers (CM03-05), Fluffy’s Revenge 1 (CM06-04), Can You Count (CM06-03). Two 32 round field courses were also included.
A majority of club members were shooting the Ohio Championship match on Saturday making the usual set up routine difficult. Two members went above and beyond coming in Saturday to set up all six of the classifier stages. This left only the two field courses to be built Sunday morning. A big thank you to Rob G and Bob W for all their hard work!
Being this was a holiday weekend, a large turn out was not expected. It was nice to see nearly 60 people come out to have fun shooting at our club. Other nice surprises were the presence of three members of the Canadian IPSC team. Mike Dame (Big Awesome) is a regular at south east Michigan USPSA matches setting a high bar, Evgueni K and Peter S showed us their exceptional skills as well with first place finishes in Production and Limited divisions respectfully. A warm welcome to Matilda and Bob! The husband & wife production shooters have come to practice on Thursday night and shot their first match at WCRH. With 6 classifiers under their belts they will have a classification next month. More important, both were smiling and said they had fun at the end of the day. The total breakdown of shooters and stage scores for this match are at the USPSA website. Of special note in the scores is that of club member Chris B who had a hit factor of 10.6796 on Melody Line. If the unofficial classifier calculator is correct, this gives Chris a 100% moving him one step closer a GM status.

22 April 2012 Match Results
The first match of the year for IPSC66 at the Wayne County Raccoon Hunters got off with a bang. This was the first match using the new PractiScore electronic scoring system so most shooters had to be entered into the system. This caused some delays getting started but was a minor delay compared to the ease of scoring and the speed that match results were uploaded to USPSA.
The unpredictable Michigan weather was cooperating with warm temperatures and no rain (or snow) to dampen the day’s event. Turnout was excellent with 73 competitors ranging from juniors to super seniors and GM to unclassified. Limited, Production, and Single Stack were the best represented with 21, 20, and 18 participants respectively. The match was a 220 round count meaning plenty of reloading and careful stage planning for the revolver shooters prepping for the upcoming ICORE Central States Championship. As usual, there were 7 field courses and a single classifier: Golden Bullet Standards (CM 06-06).
